Hello everyone!
Today marked UWF Students for Life first official presence praying in front of the abortion clinic with 40 Days for Life! Wow, I am so glad that I was able to attend, it was powerful! Apparently during the weekdays, women come in to schedule their abortion date, or they can receive a chemical abortion. Little did I know how important our presence truly is- because we had an opportunity to witness to at least 4 women going in. Here is the account:
During our prayer vigil from 9AM – 11AM, about 6 women/couples came to the clinic. At this time, we were praying… and then I felt the inspiration to witness to the people going in. I greeted them kindly and told them my name and told them to go to the Alpha center, which is really just down the street from the abortion clinic. I told them (at the different times that they came in) that they could get free help and resources and proceeded to ask them what I could possibly do to help. I encouraged the fathers to support and help their wife/girlfriend- that they needed their support more than ever now to choose life. Of all the people I witnessed to (always in a loving tone, never shouting) two women gave me the time of day… They actually stopped and listened briefly to what I had to say. Unfortunately, they went in anyway- but I pray that the seeds I planted may have taken root and changed their minds.
After going to the abortion clinic, everyone agreed that they had been touched. It is truly agonizing knowing that even one child will be killed… That is why 40 Days for Life is sooo important. Standing out there with our sign and praying, we were seen by hundreds of cars passing by. Many of these people have no idea what is going on in the building behind us until they see our signs and see us praying. What I have learned is that without praying and bringing our prayerful presence to the abortion clinics- this truly sad reality will continue on… unnoticed and unfelt. Abortion should cause us to grieve, this is normal. If the loss of an innocent human being didn’t cause me to shed a tear- I would know that something is wrong inside. Just so, I know something is seriously wrong when I hear the occasional account of women leaving the abortion clinic laughing. I am almost more concerned for these women because they are in denial and are numb- and whenever they realize the truth and reality of what has happened- I’d imagine the pain and sorrow would be even more intense. Please, remember these women in prayers today. They need our help, prayers, and love.
Please prayerfully consider coming out with 40 Days for Life this Thursday from 2:45PM-4PM. Our calendar will show you the other times we will be scheduled to be out there. Or, if your schedule is different, feel free to come out anytime you’d like to pray. Your prayer and presence really does make a difference. ![]()

P.S. I want to share with you a 40 Days for Life story that comes out Houston, TX this fall. This is a “different kind of story” that you never hear about from the pro-choice mindset. This calls us to also remember fathers in our prayers.
