Baby saved today!

Category : Stories

What happens when people lovingly stand outside an abortion clinic to pray? Lives get saved.  Enough said.

Today was so exciting! In the morning, after seeing the 40 Days for Life email about abortions being done today (at the 9 Mile abortion mill), I stood resolved to finally get out there to pray again.  When I got in my car, however, it started making really weird loud sounds and the tail pipe was blowing white smoke.  I almost didn’t go on account of this as we have generally been having oddities with our car lately… but I said a prayer to St. Christopher and promised myself I’d just listen to the car to see what is going on with it at least.  When I got to the abortion clinic, I honestly felt out of place.  I hadn’t been out there in a while and didn’t really know what to do.

As usual, Mark got me updated on some news for a few minutes and just as I was getting my brains together about what to do there – a girl walked out in front of us.  Mark and I were stunned.  Accustomed to being flicked off and ignored, I quickly asked her if she needed help, not expecting anything to happen.  To my surprise, she stopped, looked at us and told us she couldn’t go through with it.  I then noticed a tiny picture that looked like an ultrasound of a baby in her hand.  She said she didn’t go through with it.

Mark and I immediately rejoiced.  He told her she should bring the baby back here when he’s born and then asked how old the baby was.  She said, 8 weeks.  I was so excited for her I gave her a hug and said “You’re a mother!”  She then said “I don’t know what I’m going to do.”  I said, do you need help?  There’s tons of help at the Alpha Center: diapers, maternity clothes, etc….  She looked at me stunned, “Really??”  I was like “YA!”  “Come with me and I will take you there right now, they’re right down the street!”  She was so happy but still in utter shock.  She had seen Mark’s picture of abortion and heard him say “Don’t go in there” – this she told me was like the Holy Spirit speaking to her.  When she heard the nurse tell her she was 8 weeks along, she seemed to have snapped out of it and knew she couldn’t do this.

After receiving help and support and love from pro-lifers today, this lovely mother had changed from sad and lost to utterly happy and joyful.  There is nothing more rewarding in the pro-life movement than this – to see a person transformed from despair to hope.  What a treasure God has given us today.  One more precious life SPARED!

Lastly, I want to leave you all with this truth.  This mother said that because people were out there praying for her – she had the courage to leave the abortion clinic.  If we weren’t there, she probably would have gone through with it.  Seeing how hard she hurt today over just having walked into the abortion clinic and almost had the abortion, this poor woman would have been in a horrific state had she gone through with it.

You and I know there is help, we care, and we know what abortion does.  We need to get out of our comfort zones and do what we know is right.  Be the hope that someone needs in crisis.  Trust me.  You’ll never regret it.

Slaughter of the innocents…

Category : Events, General Pro-Life

In our own day and age, we have the slaughter of the innocents , the children within their mother’s womb, taking place from 1-6pm today at the 9th ave American Family Planning abortion facility.  Tomorrow from 6am-1pm @ American Family
Planning abortion facility.  AMS of Pensacola will either slaughtering the innocent tomorrow from 6am-4pm or Saturday, or Sunday, same hours.
Father, forgive them for they know now what they do. Please take some time this week to BE THERE in PRAYER outside either abortion facility in this week before we celebrate the birth of Christ Jesus.  These children never get a birthday and so we need to be there on their last day here on earth, if but only to be present and pray with them as they enter eternal paradise, and spend Christmas with Jesus.  Let us especially pray for the moms and dad’s of these precious little ones, who will forever mourn the death of their sweet child this week before Christmas 2010.

Today begins the 40 Days for Life campaign!

Come to the Kick-Off prayer vigil tonight at 7PM in front of the AMS of Pensacola!

Bring a flash light and a spirit of love.  The president has made some arroz con habichuelas- so feel free to celebrate the beginning of this powerful prayer campaign to end abortion!

40 Days for Life recap:

This is a very powerful 40 day-long event in which people of all faiths pray for an end to abortion, and specifically for the closing of Pensacola’s last-standing abortion clinic: AMS Pensacola.  Last year, we focused our prayers and peaceful pro-life presence in front of the “Health Center” abortion clinic on 9th Avenue.  The day immediately after 40 Days for Life had ended, the abortion clinic was FORCED TO CLOSE ITS DOORS!!! God works in mysterious ways – and it was by no coincidence that this abortion clinic had been finally caught for having an unlicensed clinic lab for over 413 days! God does work miracles, and if we want abortion to be unwanted, unthinkable, and illegal – we need to actively pray for this to happen.

Lastly……

Clinic closing: Nationwide acknowledgement

Category : Events, News

I hope you all are celebrating the wonderful victory we have had with 40 Days for Life this year, having the 9th Avenue abortion clinic close. It really is a miracle! 413 days: an oversight for a “professional profiting clinic”? I don’t think so… If that were to happen at one of the hospitals around here, there would be outrage. This is a miracle, and your prayers and participation were a part of it!  Thank you for those who participated!  You can read what the national director of 40 Days For Life had to say about our victory here.

There will be a recount on the success of this fall’s 40 Days for Life campaign and I highly recommend listening!  This will be a national webcast with former-director of Planned Parenthood, Abby Johnson, our local 40 Days for Life coordinators: Ernie and Mary-Beth Cyr, and other influential people who have experienced miracles in their own towns.  Also, plans for this coming Spring’s 40 Days will be discussed.  The webcast will start at 8PM Central time this Monday, and last an hour.  If you can’t catch all of it, maybe you can catch some…

Have a great weekend and remember to pass on the great news!

Community Healthcare Center of Pensacola: CLOSED!!!

Category : Events, News

You read that right: The abortion clinic on 9th Ave has closed for good! A legal notice was posted in the Pensacola News Journal yesterday, November 2nd, confirming it.

The clinic officially closed for business on October 30th, the last Friday of this fall’s 40 Days For Life campaign. A handful of UWF Students for life were there peacefully protesting. We had no idea it would be the last protest in front of that facility.

Today’s vigil a success!

Category : News

Just a quick note about this morning’s vigil/peaceful protest at the 9th Avenue abortion clinic.

We had 12 members of UWF Students for Life in all!

That’s a great turnout for our first vigil! Even though it was raining, cold, and really early (5:30am), our group was there to defend the defenseless.

It really makes a difference when college students take a stand. We are survivors of this holocaust. We are the next generation of mothers and fathers. We have the most powerful voice on this issue.

To see pictures from this morning, take a look at our gallery page.

Thanks so much to everyone who came. We will be doing this again soon!

Vigil this Friday!

Category : Events, Prayer

UWF Students for Life members and many others will be coming out to pray for the unborn babies this Friday.

Friday at 5:30AM is when abortions are done at the 9th Avenue abortion clinic. This is the time when prayers and presence are most needed. Just imagine: you could save a life. You could touch the heart of a mother and help her to see how much love that we have for her and her child; that she doesn’t have to go through with the abortion (as parents or boyfriend or others have most likely pressured her to do).

Come and step outside of your comfort zone to help the voiceless unborn. At the least, you can say that you were there on their behalf the day they were rejected and killed; that you, you did not forget him or her. This is one of the most powerful experiences I have had in my life; to be a hero and stand in honor and love for the poor unborn children who will be killed and thrown in the trash.

If you are a Christian, just think: If you could have lived during the time of Christ’s passion, where would you want to be? At home, or at the foot of the cross? Every human being is made in the image of God, so when human beings are rejected and unjustly treated, it is the same as doing it to Jesus.

You do not have to be a Christian to bear witness to the precious unborn or to hold up a sign that has “ALPHA center (Pregnancy Resource Center) 479-3616 We Can Help!” and perhaps make a profound impact on that mother to save the life of her baby.

I prayerfully urge you to consider coming out to pray and be a presence for the children and the mothers. We had twins saved this past Friday and hope all the babies will be saved this Friday.

We are trying to get 30-40 people out there this Friday. Please RSVP at the Facebook event page or by email. All questions welcome!
