Today, we are having our first-ever Pro-Life Ambassador training!

Where: Bldg 11, Rm 223

When: 6PM, Wednesdays beginning April 7th (today)

Why come to this event: For us to be able to make any imprint in the world so that all human persons are respected and protected, we have got to be active.  One part of being an active pro-lifer is “talking the talk.”  You may instinctively know that it is just plain wrong to kill and innocent human being- even if it is a young person growing in the womb – but when you are on the university campus, in the business world, talking to politicians, or just explaining it to someone of a different mindset-you will do much better if you can explain the truth about the dignity of human life Clearly, Concisely, and Kindly.

Even if you are still not quite sure about the pro-life beliefs, this event will be perfect for you to hear and better understand what truly guides our movement.  Feel free to ask questions- no question is unwelcome!

Come and get your brain thinking about why life must be protected during all of its stages!

Some misunderstandings about pro-lifers:

“They’re a bunch of religious bigots”

Human life is scientifically proven and has been proven for many years now because of the findings of science.  Also, sound logic further backs up the pro-life belief that life is a continuum- beginning at conception and ending at death – rather than the silly idea that life begins when the baby happens to be born and then ending whenever society designates a person is inconvenient

“They are anti-woman, anti-feminist”

What could be further from the truth?  What is the one most obvious feminine ability that no man could ever do?  Become a mother and carry a child in her womb!  We believe that when you kill a mother’s child, not only do you disrespect the child- but you also deeply wound the mother’s heart.  You cannot help a mother by killing her child- but you can help her by supporting her, loving her, helping her to have the resources to be able to parent or adopt her child to a loving family.  What could be better? P.S. All the founding feminists like Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Susan B. Anthony, Mary Wollstencraft, etc. were all pro-life and so called “anti-abortion.”  Learn more here.

“They only care about babies in the womb- not children outside the womb.”

Most if not all pregnancy resource centers offer parenting classes, toddler clothes, diapers, cradles, car seats, etc. all for people outside of the womb.  Pro-life means respect for all human life- that means anti-homicide, anti-abuse, anti-disrespect of any kind- young or old.  50 million babies have been legally killed in the United States – this demands a great deal of effort, time, and focus.  It’s the same as if slavery were legal- at that time, I’m sure pro-slavery people would call abolitionists “negro-lovers” and not lovers of all humankind.  This is obviously fallacious.

Email us if you have any pro-life stereotypes you’ve heard and we’ll add them to the next post!  Trust me – there are lots out there….

For this reason UWF Students for Life is hosting Aaron Chatraw, Air Force pilot and Georgia Tech graduate, to give us a 4 week training program to help you to be a calm, conversational, inspirational pro-life ambassador! He has been trained with the well-respected and highly appraised pro-life group: Justice for All, and has  already had significant hands-on experience with engaging positive dialogue on this important issue.
